The women of the Dutch National Hockey squad are among the best in their sport. At the Olympic Games in Beijing/Peking they’re one of the major candidates for a gold medal. We sure hope they will advance through the tournament. Because whether you like hockey or you don’t, it’s no punishment to look at these women. We composed a fine photo gallery of the hottest female hockey players of the Dutch national squad. We’re pleased to introduce to you Ellen Hoog, Fatima Moreira de Melo, Naomi van As, Wieke Dijkstra en Sophie Polkamp.

Fatima Moreira de Melo
Fatima Moreira de Melo is the face of one of Rabobank, a large bank in The Netherlands, and appears in their TV-commercials. She also gathered wide media coverage because she broke off her engagement because she had fallen in love with former Dutch tennis professional tennis player Ramon Sluiter. Fatima Moreira de Melo appeared in the Dutch FHM in a sizzling hot photo shoot. She played 250 official matches for the Dutch squad and scored 30 times.

Sophie Polkamp
This 24-year old beauty began her hockey career at Groningen. In 2002 she left to SCHC where she still plays. Sophie Polkamp made her debut for the national Dutch hockey squad in 2005 in a match against Scotland. She plays as right defender and is most known for her excellent jab tackle.

Naomi van As
Naomi van As was born in The Hague and she plays for Klein Zwitserland. This 25-year old brunette already played more than 90 official matches for the Dutch national hockey squad. She wasn’t well known in The Netherlands until she dated Dutch world champion speed skating Sven Kramer. She appeared together with Fatima Moreira de Melo in a Dutch TV-commercial for the Rabobank.

Wieke Dijkstra
Wieke Dijkstra made her debut for the Dutch national squad in 2003 at a tournament in South-Korea. Since then Wieke Dijkstra played 63 official matches and scored 6 times. Wieke Dijkstra plays most of the times as a defensive midfielder, although she often plays in defence. Since the summer of 2003 she plays for Laren.

Ellen Hoog
Ellen Hoog plays for hockey club SCHC in Bilthoven. She plays as a striker and since 2004 she’s a regular member of the Dutch national squad. She already played 67 official matches for the Dutch national squad and scored 11 times. In 2005 she had to deal with a major personal tragedy when her father died.
